Snowdrops.me began in response to the large numbers of snowdrops we were propagating from our collection of Galanthus here at Bruckhills Croft, Aberdeenshire. We open By Arrangement for Scotland's Gardens Scheme's 'Snowdrops & Winter Walks' in February and March each year, when visitors can view the collection — and it was selling some of those snowdrops to visitors that first led us to offer them more widely by post.
In 2021 our collection of Galanthus was awarded National Plant Collection status by Plant Heritage.
Nearly 600 different varieties of snowdrop are grown and propagated in our collection.
Every snowdrop we sell is propagated from plants grown here at Bruckhills Croft. Depending on the time of year you will receive dormant bulbs, newly sprouting bulbs, snowdrops in flower, or snowdrops lifted 'in the green'. We wash the compost from the bulbs before posting to minimise damage and keep postage costs low, then wrap them in damp tissue and film and box them for safe arrival.
We are a small, specialist nursery run by genuine enthusiasts. Whether you are starting your first drift of Galanthus nivalis or hunting that elusive yellow or virescent variety for a growing collection, we are always happy to share advice and help you find the right snowdrops for your garden.
